Our Specialized Programming Service provides assessment and programming services to children, adolescents and adults with neuro-integrative disorders.

These disorders include: Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Down's Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Asperger's Disorder, Developmental Delays, Tourettes Syndrome, brain injuries or other disorders which affect an individual's ability to cope with, process and respond to information.

The Specialized Programming Service targets areas such as behavioural management, sensory processing techniques, auditory and visual skills, life skills training, play skills, language and social communication, pre-academic and academic instruction and gross and fine motor skills. Our programs promote the growth and development of the client's intellectual, physical, behavioural and social skills.

Our services compliment a variety of community programs and services that are currently available to individuals with special needs. Under the direction of the Director of Specialized Programming Services, our Associates work with the individual, their family and other interested and involved parties to provide continuity of care. Our Associates believe in the uniqueness and positive potential of each person. The service has a variety of programs available.

We review all materials, and then meet with the individuals and their families and other involved professionals to determine whether our services can be of assistance. The assessment takes approximately 10-15 hours and is available in a timely fashion. Upon completion of the assessment a report is provided and recommendations are suggested on specialized programming that may be helpful to the client.

The Specialized Individual Programming is the core component of our services. Following the assessment, a programming plan is developed. The plan outlines goals and objectives, strategies, activities provided, estimated time required and cost of services.

Our approach is holistic -- to understand and integrate an individual's strengths, weaknesses, characteristics and experiences within their own environment. Programming augments the individual's ability to internalize new concepts and make them a part of a learned repertoire of skills that can be applied to everyday activities.

Our programs are designed on an individual basis with a focus on language, social communication, sensory integration, movement, auditory and visual ability skills. The integration of these skills provides the individual with new opportunities for growth and development.

Sessions are often offered on a weekly basis, and families are provided with exercises, activities and strategies to use between sessions.

A group Gym Program for children is offered in communities where enrollment is sufficient. The program complements the child's individual programming because many similar activities are provided and each child has the opportunity for social interaction and learning. An adult is required to participate with the child during the full program.

This program is available where the numbers of children warrant it.
